SECOND COVID-19 FATALITY IN PHILIPPINES – The Philippines had seen an increasing trend in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Recently, The Manila Doctors Hospital announced that the 2nd COVID-19 death in the country died before knowing she was infected with the disease.

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the death of patient number 35 on late Wednesday night. In addition, she was reported to be the wife of the Senate resource person who tested positive for the virus.

According to an article from GMA, the Manila Doctors Hospital stated that the patient was admitted on March 5. Along with this, her results for the sample sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) were still pending.

However, as per the article, the patient succumbed to the virus prior to the release of the results from RITM on March 11, 2020.

Currently, the Senate Building is under lockdown due to the resource person being tested positive for COVID-19. The temporary closing of the building was confirmed by Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto. Several officials are under quarantine now.

Additionally, the Husband of the deceased COVID-19 patient was is “Critical” condition.
