CHINA BLAMES US FOR CORONAVIRUS – China had been reported to have misinterpreted a foreign report regarding the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

According to reports from the Foreign Policy, clips from Taiwanese TV and mistranslated captions from American reporting are used to place blame on the United States for the coronavirus outbreak.

Additionally, the Chinese government released a glossy book that entails how China effectively fought against the epidemic.

A Battle Against Epidemic: China Combating COVID-19 in 2020“. Basically, the book compiled all state media statements regarding the coronavirus and the heroic strides of President Xi Jinping.

Along with this, the World Health Organization (WHO) was met with harsh criticisms for praising how the Chinese Communist Party had responded to the outbreak.

One official from WHO even stated that if he had COVID-19, he’d want to be treated in China. However, there have been several videos uploaded showing the harsh realities China was facing.

Likewise, their decision to delay the declaration of COVID-19 was also criticized by several governments. But, in WHO‘s defense, they stated that announcing a pandemic would only “cause panic”.

Meanwhile, popular social media sites in China had been censoring coronavirus related content since January. Likewise, whistleblowers and citizen journalists have either been jailed or disappeared.

Currently, the COVID-19 outbreak had caused the deaths of over 4,633 people worldwide. Along with this, it had infected more than 126,300 people. Of that number, 68,285 have recovered.

China had reported fewer confirmed COVID-19 cases in recent days. However, countries like Italy and South Korea have had an increasing trend in cases and deaths due to the virus.
