Barangay Suba To Sue Azul Cebu Over “Tuslob Buwa”

TUSLOB BUWA – Officials of Barangay Suba, Cebu City will sue the restaurant Azul Cebu over the word of the food called “Tuslob Buwa”.

According to SunStar, Azul Cebu registered the word in the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.

It was further lambasted by netizens when it posted a reminder that the word “Tuslob Buwa” is trademarked by the restaurant.

Cebuano term for “Dipped in Bubbles”, it is a popular street food in Cebu which is usually complimented with hanging rice or “puso”. The food’s recipe are pig brain and pork or chicken intestines.

Joel Sable, captain of Barangay Suba, said that the street food originally came from their barangay and Barangay Pasil.

“Even if they have registered it, we cannot deny the fact that it originally came from us,” 

He further added that they have a yearly festival for the famed street food.

As per the report, Councilor Jose Cabaral said that they will discuss the issue in the Barangay Council session on March 9 (Monday).

He added that they will discuss the issue properly, since it also includes legal matter.

“We don’t know what measure to take but we will surely take legal actions,”

As for Azul Cebu, they refused to comment on the matter as of the moment.
