Four Individuals Rescued In Capsized Fishing Boat In San Carlos City

SAN CARLOS CITY – Four individuals were rescued from their fishing boat that was capsized in the waters of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

According to SunStar, the capsizing incident occurred on March 1, 2020 (Sunday).

Lieutenant Commander Jansen Benjamin, chief of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Negros Occidental division, said that the four men was identified as Jail Inspector Ian Carl Niaga; Jail Officer 1 Michael Oliver Facio; Romeo Mabilog; and Antonio Yanson.

Benjamin said that the four men went out fishing. However, due to the strong winds and big waves, their boat capsized.

Many fishing boats in the area who witnessed the incident immediately performed a rescue operation and the casualties were eventually rescued.

As per the report, fortunately the four men did not suffer any major injuries from the incident. However, Mabilog was rushed to the local city hospital after he complained of hypertension.
