A landform, according to the National Geographic, refers to the surface of the Earth that is part of the terrain.

It is a solid surface of the Earth that can be either artificial or natural.

Plains
This type does not have a rising or falling slope. It is basically flat or gently rolling. This is where we plant our crops and fruits since it is easier to cultivate.

Mountain
This landform is easily recognized due to high rising of the land. There are many mountains all over the world.

Mountain Range
This is basically a cluster or a combination of mountains. These are also higher and steeper than a mountain.

Volcano
This is a mountain with a crater or simply, a hole at the top. Unlike mountains, volcanoes can spew lava or molten rock.

Hill
Basically, this is the mountain’s midget brother. It is a mountain, only smaller, longer and more round.

Valley
A plain that is in between mountains or surrounded by mountains. Like plains, we can plant crops there.

Plateau
This is a combination of both plain and a mountain like valleys. The only difference is that the plain part of this landform is the at peak or the higher areas of the mountain.

Peninsula
A long and stretched landform that is located at the end of an island. It is usually nearly surrounded by waters.
