CEO Claims Corona Beer Sales Remains Strong Despite Coronavirus Fear

The CEO of the company producing Corona beers claims that the sales remain strong and even raised despite misinformation and fears of coronavirus.

The novel coronavirus or now called COVID-19 has become the headlines of numerous local and international news outlets after affecting thousands of people all across the globe. The disease is now spreading in different countries.

Many countries all around the world are now taking precautionary measures to prevent the rapid spread of the deadly virus that took the lives of some people. The virus allegedly originated from Wuhan, China.

Recently, a video footage of a health-conscious lady who opened bottles of Corona beer and poured it down the sink to get rid of the virus went viral on social media. Other claims that the beer brand will lose big sales due to the spread of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, CEO Bill Newlands of the Constellations Brands, company producing the Corona beer claims that the spread of virus does not affect the sales of the product. Many reports and misinformation about the impact of this virus on the business is circulating online, but the CEO said virus has no impact from the business.

According to the report of CNN, Constellation Brands just released a statement towards negative buzz about the brand. The company claims sales are actually up 5 percent in the U.S. over the latest four-week period, nearly doubling the 52-week trend for the brand.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this terrible virus and we hope efforts to more fully contain it gain traction soon,” said Bill Newlands, CEO of Constellation Brands, in a statement. “We’ve seen no impact to our people, facilities or operations and our business continues to perform very well.”
