Community Raises Funds To Buy Truck for Hardworking Man Traveling 6 Hours to Work

Hardworking Man Traveling 6 Hours to Work Received Brand New Truck from Community

A community raises funds to purchase a truck for a hardworking man who is traveling at least six hours just to reach work.

A hardworking custodian identified as Robert Reed of Germantown, Tennessee is traveling at least six hours to and from work. Robert is riding eight (8) buses and walking four miles to reach the school.

The man is doing the same thing in the afternoon after his work at Farmington Elementary School as a custodian. He is already working in the school for four (4) months and continues to impress the teachers and staff.

Reed works tirelessly around the school after his long commute and walks to and from the school. Reed’s fellow worker Elizabeth Malone also expressed his admiration towards the custodian.

He loves the students and teachers here. Mr. Robert always has a smile on his face. His manager says he LOOKS for jobs to do around the school, after he has completed his daily tasks. Every day he goes above and beyond taking care of the needs in our facility,” Malone said.

After the community discovered Reed’s difficult situation they have decided to raise funds to gift him with a truck. The community posted an initial goal of $10,000 to GoFundMe for a used truck but the fundraisers received almost $50,000.

The school bought a brand new truck for Robert from the money they have collected and given the rest of it to him to make his life better.
