“Bawal Magbalot” Sign Elicits Comments Online

Many Filipino people love to attend birthday parties, wedding celebrations, and other special events or occasions serving delicious foods. Most party visitors are eating food as much as they can.
However, there are some visitors who would like to take out foods from the parties. Taking out foods after a party is fine but bringing foods in the middle of the party while other guests or visitors haven’t eaten yet is considered as a shameful act.
Recently, a Facebook user named Flora Malinay Bayona has shared the photo of a “Bawal Magbalot” sign at a birthday party. The post immediately goes viral and drew laughs from social media users.
The sign has words written: “Bawal po ang magbalot. Kaunti ang handa” that prohibits guests to bring home food. The sign was made to prevent the party goes to pack foods without permission from the party host.
The social media users expressed their reactions to the photo. Some netizens called it ‘bastos’ since there is some other diplomatic way to tell guests not to bring foods.
