Son Ye-Jin Donate To Help Fight COVID-19 Outbreak

DONATE – South Korean actress Son Ye-Jin has made a generous donation to help her hometown fight the coronavirus outbreak.

Actress Son Ye-Jin is one of the most prominent actresses in South Korea. She has starred on several hit tv series such as “Something in the Rain,” “Secret Garden,” and “Along in Love.”

Her latest drama series with Hyun Bin entitled “Crash Landing On You” has achieved the highest viewership rating in the channel’s history. The said tv-series is also aired on Netflix.

Based on a report from Soompi, Son Ye-Jin has made a generous donation to her home town Daegu. The city is the epicenter of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak in South Korea.

Her country now has the most number of coronavirus cases outside China. South Korea now has over 1,500 infected patients and most of them are from Daegu City.

The 38-year-old actress donated 100 million won (approximately P4.1) to the non-profit organization Community Chest of Korea to help city combat the outbreak of the deadly virus.

“Daegu is my hometown, where I was born and raised, as well as the place where my parents live now. So it is a particularly special place for me, and the news of [the COVID-19 outbreak] in Daegu was especially heartbreaking for me…”

“I hope that [my donation] can provide some sort of practical help to lower-income residents who desperately need help now more than ever, as well as an aid in the treatment and prevention of COVID-19,” she said.

According to the report, Son Ye-Jin’s donation will be used to purchase medical supplies and give support that’s necessary to stop the spread of the Wuhan virus.
