PNP Arrests Bacolod CIDG Chief Police Major Melvin Madrona
BACOLOD CIDG CHIEF – The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested Police Major Melvin Madrona.
The members of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), and other security and government forces are expected to be the prime implementers of the law.
Just as they have the authority to arrest anyone who go against the law, they are expected to set as examples in abiding the law. They are also expected to spare themselves from bribery for those who will try to pay them.
However, there are several instances when incidents display the contrary. Not only those in the lower ranks have faced such allegations.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has recently arrested Bacolod CIDG Chief Police Major Melvin Madrona. It is due to extortion allegations.
According to the report, Madrona was nabbed in an entrapment operation conducted in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. He is currently facing accusations of alleged extortion worth Php 5,000.00 from a KTV bar.
Reportedly, Quezon City Police District records show that in 2017, Madrona was removed from his post. It was due to his involving in an incident where he allegedly beat a motorist in a police precinct.
