Five Casualties In Van-Police Car Accident In Santa Barbara, Iloilo
SANTA BARBARA – Five individuals were injured in an accident involving a van and a police patrol car in Santa Barbara, Iloilo province.
According to Panay News, a van crashed against the police car in Barangay Bolong Oeste in the said municipality.
Among the casualties were Police Staff Sergeants Francisco Sodusta and Windy Ojana who sustained minor injuries.
Also injured were van passengers Van Francis Laru-an, Kevin Cepra, and Precila Gangoles. They were taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district for medical treatment. Cepra and Gangoles were then discharged from the hospital.
Police probers reported that the accident occured at around 10:20 AM on Wednesday (February 26).
The police car was about to turn left when the van, which was driven by Renante Guevarra, collided with it.
As per the report, Guevarra, who remained unharmed, is currently jailed in the lockup cell of the local municipal police station. He will face charges.
