Korean Flight Attendant Tests Positive For COVID-19, Passengers Desperate To Cancel Flights

KOREAN FLIGHT ATTENDANT COVID-19 – A South Korean flight attendant had tested positive for the new coronavirus as passengers tried desperately to cancel flights.

On Tuesday, Korean Air confirmed that one of their crew members had tested positive for the virus. It added that they are creating a structure to work closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Korea (CDCK).

According to an article from Business Insider, the airline disinfected the aircraft. In addition, it was asking other flight attendants with symptoms to self-quarantine.

Aside from this, the airline is also installing thermal cameras at Korean Air’s operation locations. However, COVID-19 was present in patients even without symptoms.

Korean Air shut down its office near the Incheon International Airport for disinfection. This is their main airport in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

However, according to the article, the routes and flights by the infected flight attendant were not immediately available.

Meanwhile, the CDCK had reported over 60 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. Adding to this, South Korea confirmed one more death on Tuesday morning.

Due to this, the Passengers who bought tickets with Korean Air desperately tried to cancel their flights. Luckily, Korean Air offered refunds on tickets for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan flights purchased before January 28.

South Korea had been on RED Alert due to the coronavirus outbreak with most cases of the virus are linked to a church in Daegu, the epicenter of the outbreak in South Korea.

Because of the outbreak, countries like the Philippines are now considering a potential travel ban on Korea. However, it would still be deliberated upon by the authorities.
