The Court of Appeals ordered the reinstatement of 51 GMA employees who were terminated after holding a protest.

CA issued an order dated February 19 declared that the 51 workers as regular and they are entitled to all benefits and back wages. The Kapuso network said that their talent agreements denied that the talents were their employees.

GMA-7 said that the talents were independent contractors whose services can be terminated upon breaching their contracts. The Kapuso station also explained that the workers are required to comply with the network’s demands when it comes to the work quality.
