BIG BAD WOLF 2020: Here’s what you can expect at Big Bad Wolf, the world’s biggest travelling book sale.
We can’t deny that there are some people preferred digital libraries and online bookshops. But there are still millions of people beg to differ. They love physical books over digital alternatives. They love the growing pile of books in their rooms and offices.
The Big Bad Wolf sale is the world’s biggest and highly-anticipated traveling book sale. Based on a report from Business World, the store has sold hundreds of thousands of books in the Philippines. The co-founder and executive director of the book shop said: “the younger generations are starting to read.”
Big Bad Wolf sale is ongoing until February 24, 202O at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The Entrance is free and they sell over 2 million books with 50% to 90% discounts.
The organizers of the event encourage the book lovers to bring their own eco-bags in a bid to help reduce the use of plastic bags. “Plastic bags will not be provided at my Sale to reduce the usage of plastic bags. Bring your own bag—the bigger the better! However, if you need a bag, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale sells eco bags for PHP20,” the post reads.
The book sale is usually held in Pasay City. The city has its own ordinance against the use of plastic bags. In 2019, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed his interest in banning the use of plastic nationwide.
The Big Bad Wolf book sale also vowed to help the residents in Tagaytay who have been affected by the wrath of the Tall Volcano eruption.
