Pangilinan To POGOs: Bastusan Na Ito, Calls For Deportation Of Lawbreaking Chinese
BASTUSAN NA ITO – Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan has called for the closure of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) in the Philippines along with the deportation of lawbreaking Chinese.
Pangilinan made the call following the latest probe into corrupt immigration officials that allegedly received 10 Billion pesos in kickbacks in exchange for “VIP treatments” to Chinese entering the Philippines.

He added that the recent exposé of the clear corruption, abuse, and trafficking surrounding the POGO industry is appaling and must not be tolerated”.
Following this, the senator lamented that for the past three years, the Philippines had gone through an “influx of illegality”. He cited the billions worth of illegal drugs passing through customs and illegal immigrants claiming housing jobs that were for Filipinos.
Along with this, he also emphasized an increase in cases of prostitution and sex trafficking surrounding the POGO industry which targets vulnerable targets such as women and children.
He also highlighted the billions in tax evasion, along with other reported violations of tax, labor, immigration, and criminal laws by POGO operators and workers.
According to an article from Inquirer, during the Senate’s hearing last week, it was disclosed that the government lost an estimated value of P50 billion from unpaid taxes from POGO.
Bastusan na ito. We call for the immediate deportation of all Chinese nationals involved in prostitution, corruption, bribery, and other illegal activities
We call for the immediate closure of POGO operations involved in said criminal acts, and for all POGO operations to undergo intensive investigation and even regulation
He then made a statement to his fellow countrymen:
