Two Suspected Cases Of PUIs For COVID-19 In Masbate

MASBATE – Two people in Masbate, who have a traveled to Hong Kong, are currently under monitoring for COVID-19.

According to Inquirer, this is a statement from the Provincial Health Office of the said province on Thursday (February 13) who said that they are being monitored by health authorities for any sign of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Officer-in-charge of PHO Dr, Oscar Acuesta said that the said two patients, who are currently asymptomatic, were quarantined in a provincial hospital.

As per the report, swap samples have already been collected and were sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) for testing and analysis.

Acuesta clarified that they will provide updates when the results arrive from the RITM. He further urged the people to observe proper hygiene in order to avoid viral infection.

In Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, vice mayor El Cid Familiaran confirmed that all patients under investigatino are rendered negative from COVID-19 and were already discharged.

Familiaran was grateful that all PUIs in the city were negative. However, he urged the public to remain vigilant and inquire information and updates via the Department of Health website and stop spreading fake news.
