TWO PRISONERS TEST POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS – A prisoner who was confirmed positive for coronavirus in a British prison was transferred from a jail in Thailand.

The death toll of the virus had reached new heights on Monday with over 108 confirmed deaths. With this, the global death toll of the virus had jumped to more than 1,107.

According to a report from Inews UK, two prisoners tested positive for the virus at HMP Bullingdon, at Oxfordshire. The two are being kept in isolation inside their cells.

The prison has a 1,114 inmate capacity. Following the confirmation of the test, the prison wing where the men lived was placed under lockdown as checks were being made.

The report came after the World Health Organization (WHO) officially named the Wuhan coronavirus as “COVID-19“. In a press conference, they said that the disease does not refer to a geographical location, animal, individual, or group of people.

Before the diagnosis, they reported having flu-like symptoms. The two affected inmates were to be treated in a specialist hospital outside the prison walls.

Meanwhile, a British man who was dubbed as a “super spreader” who was thought to have passed the virus to 11 others in now healthy. according to the report.

In a statement, the man said:

When the diagnosis was confirmed I was sent to an isolation unit in hospital, where I remain, and, as a precaution, my family was also asked to isolate themselves. I also thank friends, family and colleagues for their support during recent weeks and I ask the media to respect our privacy.
