FDA Warns Public Against Purchasing Lollipop Packed in Durex Condom Foil
FDA – The Philippines’ Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) warned the public against buying lollipops packed in condom wrappers.
Philippines’ Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) was created under the Department of Health (DOH). The agency’s job is to monitor, license, and regulate the flow of drugs, food, medical devices, cosmetics, and household hazardous waste in the county.
The government agency’s main goal is to secure the health of the public. They urged the people to check the products if it is FDA approved before purchasing and eating.
Based on the FDA’s website, the food experts warn the public against purchasing and consuming unregistered food candy products. The unregistered products are DIPZY CORNPOP owned by MM LUCKY MULTISALES CORPORATION. It allegedly uses DUREX condom foil as lollipop’s wrapper:

DIPZY CORNPOP LOLLIPOP (Red)
BARANDA & ASSOCIATES informed the FDA regarding the establishment’s use of Durex condom foil as packaging. With this, the people are advised not to buy the said products because it may pose health risks to the consumers.
“The FDA was notified by the company BARANDA & ASSOCIATES that Durex condom foil packaging is being used as lollipop wrapper by the company MM Marketing reflected on its label.”
The agency also said the said products were not authorized and their Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) was not yet issued. All concerned establishments are not allowed to distribute their products unless they are issued with appropriate authorization from CPR and License to Operate (LTO).
The agency is currently investigating the issue and has ordered its agents to confiscate and seized the said products.
The British condom brand, Durex, is one of the best-selling condom brands across the world.
