Sick Chinese Man Reunited w/ Wife in the ICU
SICK CHINESE MAN – A Chinese man requested to see his wife in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital in China.
Not all couple reaches the old age. It is really a blessing if both husband and the wife reach their senior years together – may it be in sickness and in health, in poverty and wealth.
In China, a couple identified as Zhang and Weng are blessed enough to reached their 80s together. Zhang, the man of the house, is 85 years old while Wen’s 87 years old.
However, based on an article on MMV, Zhang got sick and was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) and lung cancer. He was brought to Xindu Third People’s Hospital last January 16.
Unexpectedly, a few days after, Wen was also rushed to the hospital. It was after she lost consciousness due to a respiratory failure. The old Chinese woman was also suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease.
Based on the article, after a few weeks, the condition of the couple did not side by side. Zhang was recovering while Wen’s condition was deteriorating. A mechanical ventilator had to be installed to her in the ICU.
When the sick Chinese man knew about the condition of his wife in the ICU, he requested to see her even for the last time. The doctors gave a green signal to the request of the man.
Based on the article, the nurses shared that when the sick Chinese man’s was placed beside his wife’s hospital bed, Wen grabbed the hand of her husband despite her condition. She also spoke his name.
After a while, Zhang was brought back to his room. He was very happy to see his wife. Wen passed away just a few hours after seeing her husband.
