Young Filipina Gymnast Bags 3 Silvers in USA Tourney

A 15-year-old Filipina gymnast bags three silver medals, bringing honor to the country from Los Angeles, California, USA.

Jessica Rayne Tijam the Filipina Rhythmic Gymnast who dominated 2020 Rhythmic LA Gymnastics Invitationals held last February 2 in Sylmar, Los Angeles, California, bagging three silver medals on the said tournament.

According to Philippine Athletes at Multi-Sport Event, The 15-year old gymnast, who represented Emerald City Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics in the nearby San Diego, made a silver medal haul in the Hoop, Ball, and Ribbon apparatus, registering a score of 19.100, 19.800 and 15.400, respectively. She was placed 4th in the Club event, scoring 16.300.

Jessica tallied an overall total score of 70.600, placing her second out of nine competitors in the FIG Level 10 Senior category.

A year ago, Jessica also bannered the national delegation. She represented the country along with the 13-year-old gymnastic prodigy Breanna Labadan in the FIG Junior World Championship in Moscow, Russia.

Unfortunately, they did not advance in the finals of their respective categories but Tijam won a bronze medal in the ribbon category of the Koop Cup in Toronto, Canada.
