Minda is a 16-year-old girl who lived a life where everyone tells her what to do and what not to do. It was the summer of 2002 when her cousin John asked her to come with him to meet a long lost friend in Masbate. John pointed the friend to Minda as he came down the plank. Although he was like the other passengers, there was something different about him. Maybe because of the high backpack and small bamboo suitcase. His name was Tim and he exchanged greetings with John and talked for a while until he saw Minda and greeted her.

The following day, Minda stepped out the front door and saw Tim. They started talking and exchanged morning greetings. Tim asked Minda if there’s a nearby mart where there is cooked food, in which she responded by saying there is one which is about a kilometer away from here. He invited her to come because he wanted to try eating in a public market, which he haven’t done in his entire life. Minda was hesitant since John might get mad for this but ended up agreeing to come with John.

Times have passed and she started to like Tim. She decided to dress pretty for the party. Minda wanted to be in the avenue as early as possible in order to talk to Tim. There she asked silly questions to Tim, if he had any girlfriend. Minda find out that he never had any girl friend and wanted to have one like Minda , but Minda was too young for him.

After that night, they haven’t got a chance to meet since John and Tim went busy viditing places in Masbate while Minda was busy helping her mother with her business. When Minda came home, she found a package waiting for her. She took the package and found a book of poems , Tim’s sunglasses, and his note for her.

Minda really felt sad because she wasn’t able to say goodbye to Tim and wasn’t able to say how she feels for him. It was then she suddenly realized that she don’t want to mope and feel sorry for her self. She decided to make it a normal day hid her feelings for Tim.
