Uniqlo Collaborates With “The Devil Wears Prada”
UNIQLO – Japan’s most popular casual clothing brand, Uniqlo collaborates with “The Devil Wears Prada.”
American comedy-drama film “Devil Wears Prada” stars Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. The 2006 film tells the story of a recent college graduate named Andy (Hathaway). She has big dreams and landed a job at a prestigious Runway magazine run by Miranda Priestly (Streep). Andy struggles to keep up with her terror boss.
The movie garnered positive reviews from critics. Streep earned several awards and nominations from various award-giving bodies. 14 years have already passed but until now, people still drool over the lead characters whenever they watch it.
Recently, the Japanese casual wear designer, Uniqlo, released limited-edition shirts featuring the classic movie “Devil Wears Prada.” It’s part of their special campaign called “Women in Movies.” Based on a report from Preview, their merch features the Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs and the “devil” herself Miranda Priestly played by Meryl Streep.
According to the report, the three “Devil Wears Prada” merchandise falls under the fashion retail brand’s latest collection. The clothes focus on “strong-willed female characters” who “overcome difficulties to pursue what they believe in.”
Uniqlo said, “we picked iconic scenes an quotes from those movies and incorporated them with our designs.”
