Alex Diaz revealed what happened after his true identity was unravel
Actor Alex Diaz tackled in a recent interview the life he has after his true identity was unraveled before the public’s eyes.
Alex was one of the talents of Star Magic who has that oozing appeal even though most of his roles were depictions of being an egoistic or bad boy. However, last year, an unexpected thing happened to the actor.
He was entangled in controversy when fitness coach Miguel Chanco revealed on social media the messages he received from the actor proposing to him. For the longest time, fans and people who have seen the showbiz journey of Alex have no idea about his sexual preference.
Now that the secret is out, the actor viewed that as a blessing in disguise. Instead of receiving hate comments from netizens, a lot has expressed love and support for Alex. “I guess this was God’s divine intervention ‘cause he said it’s time for you to change the world,” he muses. “It’s time for you to change lives with your platform. I was outed,” he said talking to Star Studio.
He admitted that during his high school days, he already had an attraction to both males and females. However, for the longest time, he suppressed that side of himself because of the fear of what will be the reaction of the people around him.
Alex Diaz expressed his gratitude to the person who was instrumental in his unraveling. “I was so thankful to Miguel. I’m so thankful to him,” he shares, looking back. “It could have killed me. We have kids as young as nine years old committing suicide because of that. He put me in a position where I had no choice but to be strong,” he said.
He also shared that his family has become his comfort in this kind of situation. “I told him if you don’t accept me, I’m okay with that. I’m going to change the world. Either you’re gonna jump on board, or you can watch me sail away,” the actor told her father. Fortunately, the incident made their father-and-son bonding even stronger.
When it comes to his mother, Alex said that it was no big deal to her. The actor added that the mere fact that he is home makes his mother so happy. In all that he has been through, the actor is so thankful for his fans.
“The norm is (pag) nag-out, nagpakamatay. I said in my vlog that my fans are the reason I’m still alive today. It was really a God-defining moment in my life,” he said during the interview.
