Doc Mike made a revelation about his past with Pia Wurtzbach
Mikhail Oskarovich “Mike” Varshavski, known popularly as Doctor Mike or Doc Mike, mentioned Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach in a recent interview.
Doc Mike is a Soviet-born American family medicine physician. He is also a YouTuber, and internet personality. His social media popularity skyrocketed when BuzzFeed and People magazine named him “The S*xiest Doctor Alive” in 2015.
In an interview conducted by Doc Mike for his YouTube channel with Filipino-Canadian nurse and top content creator John dela Cruz, better known as Nurse John, Pia was among the topics discussed, based on the article in Bandera.
This was while they were discussing some of the traits and personality characteristics of Filipinos that he had learned about, including the way they support one another even when abroad.
“It’s interesting that unlike what happened in some culture, there might be jealousy when someone succeeds, or hatred. It’s the opposite, almost feels like everyone is succeeding when that person succeeds,” the doctor shared.
Nurse John agreed with this but he stressed that there is also pressure because Filipinos are expected to do well. “It’s almost like the Asian parent mindset of ‘Don’t f*ck it up.’ And that pressure is so high that if we do something wrong, they can also scrutinize us,” the nurse shared.
Nurse John cited the world of beauty pageants as an example, something Doc Mike could also relate to.
The nurse noted that successful Filipino artists and personalities abroad face immense pressure, as people are constantly on the lookout for any slip-ups or mistakes they might make. “I don’t know if you know what Miss Universe is,” Nurse John said.
Then, Doc Mike mentioned, “Unfortunately, I’m very well-versed. You probably don’t know but I should share some of my history. I dated Pia Wurtzbach at the peak of her career.” The doctor said that he had an idea how toxic the world of pageantry can be.
Meanwhile, Pia Wurtzbach has been happily married to Scottish entrepreneur Jeremy Jauncey since 2023.
