Rapper Loonie Has Been Released From Prison Jail
LOONIE – The Fliptop Rapper Marlon Peroramas or popularly known as Loonie has been finally released from jail.
Marlon Peroramas or Loonie is one of the most popular rappers in the Philippines who popularized the hit song “Tao Lang”. He rose to fame after joining Fliptop and making iconic songs.
In September 2020, the Fliptop artist has been by Makati police during drug buy-bust operation at a hotel in Poblacion, Makati. Loonie together with four other suspects identified as David Rizon, Ivan Agustin, Albert Alvarez, and Idyll Liza Peroramas.
Loonie allegedly violated section 5 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
On Friday evening (January 24, 2020), the 32-year-old rapper has been released from prison jail after Makati City RTC Branch 150 resolved the justifiable controversy on his petition for bail last Thursday (January 23).
The order states that the arresting officer’s “testimony was full of inconsistencies and contradictions. The statement also says that officials required during the buy-bust operation were not present during the arrest.
Lastly, the arresting officer’s lack of credibility leads to the failure of the prosecution.
