Throughout the entire week, the Taal volcano has been one of the most controversial topics on social media after its unexpected eruption last Sunday (January 12, 2020). The eruption also becomes the headline of local news outlets and social media pages.
Taal’s eruption affects thousands of residents in Batangas, Cavite, and Tagaytay as the volcano belches ash plumes, small stones, and pyroclastic materials. The ongoing eruption also causes damage to numerous houses, establishments, and properties.
Various agencies and popular personalities are already exerting effort to help the poor victims of Taal’s unexpected eruption. The Philippine government and other agencies have already started to distribute relief goods to evacuees.

The Batangas Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) reported that around 232,899 residents are affected by the eruption. The evacuees are currently staying in 479 evacuation centers.
