Baguio is working with donors to cultivate blossoms in the city. Their local government had recently imported 25 tulip bulbs from Holland.

According to their Mayor, they planned to plant the bulbs in Burnham and other parks in Baguio. They had also secured P145 million and would ask for the same amount to improve their sidewalks.

With regards to the cable car and monorail system, the city government received a consultancy and construction firm’s feasibility study on using cable cars and constructing a 2.9-kilometer monorail system.

Baguio is known for its cool weather. In 2018 the city hosted 1.5 million visitors according to their tourism office.

This year, Baguio expects to welcome more tourists as Tagaytay City, a neighboring tourist destination recovers from the Eruption of Taal Volcano.

However, according to an article from ABS-CBN, amidst the influx of tourists, Baguio has lost 355 hectares of green cover. This was to make way for new developments.
