Class Suspension Declared In These Areas for Thursday (January 16)

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspension in different areas due to the effect of Taal’s eruption.

Over the past few days, Taal Volcano’s unexpected eruption has been one of the most trending topics on social media after belching ash plumes and small stones that affect thousands of residents in the area.

Taal Volcano continues to spew ashes causing damage to numerous properties throughout Batangas, Cavite, and Tagaytay. The residents in the affected areas are also advised to temporarily leave the area as the imminent eruption is expected.

Class Suspension

The Health Department also advised the public to avoid exposure to ashes and to stay at home as well as wearing face masks. Ash exposure could cause several health problems such as breathing difficulty, eye and skin irritation.

The eruption also prompted several airlines to cancel some flights and to suspend classes to ensure the safety of airline personnel, passenger, workers, and students.

On Thursday (January 16, 2020), several local government units have declared class suspensions in different areas due to the ashfall and low-intensity earthquakes.
