Class Suspensions Declared In These Areas for Monday (Jan 13)

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions in some areas due to Taal Volcano ash eruption.

On Sunday afternoon (January 12, 2020), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that Taal Volcano erupted. The eruption belched ash plumes, small rocks, and steam.

The seismology agency raised the alert level to 4, which indicates a hazardous explosive eruption within the next few hours or days. The agency also urged the residents in Batangas and its nearby areas to evacuate for a possible imminent eruption.

Phivolcs

On Monday (January 13, 2020), some local government units announced the suspension of classes in different areas due to the ongoing Taal Volcano’s eruption. Malacañang canceled the classes at all levels and government work in Calabarzon, Metro Manila, and Central Luzon.

Malacañang also encouraged the private sectors to suspend work in the affected areas for the safety of their employees. The class suspension has been done also to ensure the safety of the students.
