PNP Is Hiring 17,000 New Policemen This Year

PNP – The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced they are hiring 17,000 new policemen in 2020.

The duties of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is to enforce the law, maintain peace and order and control crimes. They investigate and prevent crime in the county and bring offenders to justice.

A police officer must maintain a BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 to be part of the country’s police force. Gamboa said the schooling required for the cop’s career advancement would be denied if they do not reach the BMI requirement.

Based on a report from PRC board, PNP announced that they are hiring new policemen this year. Filipinos aged 21 to 30 years old are welcome to apply. The Department of Budger and Management and national Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) have authorized the Philippine National Police to fill up the 17,000 new vacancies.

Gamboa said they want numerous applicants so they can select the best of the batch. “We want the largest pool of applicants that we can muster from which to select only the best and most qualified candidates that will be recruited into the police service,” he said.

“The annual recruitment program has taken Philippine law enforcement to a higher level by closing the gap in the police-to-population ratio to within ideal limits set by law,” he added.

According to the report, the monthly salary of the new policemen is P29,668.00. They will also have allowances and benefits.
