PAGASA – Cloudy Skies, Rains Expected In Mindanao, Eastern Visayas

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently said that Mindanao and Eastern Visayas will be affected by the easterlies on January 10.

The bureau further added that the northeast monsoon or amihan will affect northern and central Luzon.

A report from GMA News states that Mindanao and Eastern Visayas will face have cloudy skies with isolated rains due to the easterlies. Flash floods or landslides are to be expected especially during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora and Quezon provinces will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon. Intermittent strong winds are expected especially in coastal and mountainous areas.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

As for the rest of Visayas, they will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides are to be expected especially during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, for the forecast wind speed, the northern section of northern Luzon will have strong winds moving northeast with rough coastal waters.

The east section of the Philippines will have moderate to strong winds moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds moving northeast with light to moderate coastal waters.
