Moreno added however, that no new agreements would be signed.

“We will honor all contracts signed by the previous administration as long as the national government says Ok. ‘Yun ang garantiya natin,”

According to ABS-CBN News, the Manila City mayor said that the move aims to urge more businessmen to return to the city.

“What they have done–5 reclamation contracts–will be recognized by the city to create an atmosphere to the business sector that we have a habit of recognizing contracts to create certainty and stability in line with our direction on pinababalik namin ang lahat ng negosyante sa Maynila,”

As per the report, he did clarify that he will not sign new reclamation contracts except for the port area, adding that they aim to develop the port into a logistical hub.

“Our vision is to create a logistical hub so trucks will not go out and ply by in-city. I want them to stay inside the port and that’s the only idea of reclamation,”

ABS-CBN News posted a video of his statement in ANC headstart, which can be watched on YouTube, Here it is:

Last month, he threatened to close a mall in Divisoria if Chinese businessmen maintaining the stores in the establishment will not implement the proper payment of wages to Filipino workers.

The mall Moreno referred to was 168 Shopping Mall, where Chinese businessmen have not adequately compensated their Filipino employees.

“Don’t abuse, pay the necessary salary, don’t cheat our fellow Filipino with the standard salary. If you are chaotic in your country, if you are chaos there, do not bring it here,”“Banyaga na kayo nakakapagtinda kayo rito, ayoko ng aapihin ninyo ang mga Pilipino pagdating sa suweldo nila. Don’t do business here if you don’t pay salary. I think it’s not fair,”
