Momoland Take On Viral ‘Tala’ Dance Challenge
MOMOLAND – Korean girl group Momoland take on the viral ‘Tala‘ dance craze popularized by ABS-CBN singer-actress Sarah Geronimo.
Kapamilya singer, actress, and tv host Sarah Geronimo’s hit song “Tala” became a dance craze in the Philippines. It became popular after members of the LGBTQ community did a dance cover of the song. The video went viral when they danced Sarah’s song to protest against Aling Nelia, the woman who prohibited them to play volleyball near her house.
Their dance cover once again hooked to the song and its choreography. Lots of people then did their own cover of the dance. Last month, the ‘Popstar Royalty’ and choreographer teacher Georcelle teased the “2.0” version of ‘Tala.’
Yesterday, January 5, Sarah Geronimo lead the Grand Tala Day on ABS-CBN’s Sunday variety show ASAP Natin ‘To. People from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao participated to celebrate the dance craze.
In a previous article, celebrity couple Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde’s ‘Tala’ dance cover also went viral on social media. They are just among the celebrities who plunged into the dance craze.
Recently, the Korean girl group took the ‘Tala’ dance challenge during their guesting at Vice Ganda’s Sunday talk show “Gandang Gabi Vice.” The famous group is composed of Nancy, Nayun, Jane, Hyebin, JooE, and Ahin. They signed a contract with the Kapamilya network in October last year.
