Ship Stranded In Misamis Occidental, About 130 Passengers Rescued
MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL – A ship was recently stranded in the municipal of Plaridel, Misamis Occidental. About 130 passengers was rescued.
According to a report from ABS-CBN, the right side of the ship named Ocean Jet 7 was entered by water after it was destroyed by strong winds, as reported by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) headquarters.
The Coast Guard further deployed rescue teams, while the local government deployed at about 20 rescue boats near the location where the incident occurred.
The ship contained about 271 passengers and 17 crewmen. It was set to head to Tagbilaran when the accident happened.
As per the report, rescue operations is still ongoing.
