Japanese Airlines To Offer Foreigners Free Domestic Flights In 2020
FREE JAPANESE DOMESTIC FLIGHTS – Japanese Airlines Co. said that they would launch a campaign offering foreign nationals who visit Japan free domestic flights.
The offer would be a full free round-trip for up to 50,000 foreign nationals. According to an article from Japan times, the campaign would begin in the summer of 2020.
The initiative is partly aimed at attracting those who visit for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. With the campaign, foreigners have an opportunity to travel around the country and experience local attractions.
As per the article, the campaign would over overseas JAL’s mileage program members staying in Japan from July-September next year. The application for this would start in late February.
In addition, the free tickets would be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Following this, applicants will be asked to choose either Haneda Airport, Osaka International, or Kansai International as the departure point.
Afterward, they would be asked to pick their preferred travel dates. The applicants will then be given tickets that would take them to and from a destination chosen by JAL.
The campaign by JAL is in collaboration with the Japan Tourism Agency, Japan National Tourism Organization, and Nomura Research Institute Ltd.
