Members Of Sigue Sigue Sputnik Gang Arrested By Authorities In Tondo, Manila
SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK GANG – Three members of the Sigue Sigue Sputnik Gang, notorious for mugging and theft were arrested by authorities in Tondo, Manila.
According to a report by ABS-CBN, the arrested suspects were known as Domingo Manzon, Ricardo Fernandez, and Sonny Liwanag. The three were arrested in their own homes in Torres Bugallon, Tondo.
The gang members were notorious for scaring their victims with a gun. Afterward, they would begin to rob them and flee the scene.
Both Manzon and Fernandez were found with packets of marijuana, a 45 caliber, and a 38 caliber firearm. However, the two denied that the guns belonged to them.
As per the report, based on a statement by Police Maj. Bryan Andulan of CIDG, the gang has been on surveillance for at least a month. The police said that the group was just next-door neighbors.
Meanwhile, Liwanag was charged with snatching a cellphone back on December 15. Liwanag didn’t deny his crimes and admitted that he only did it to have something to buy his kids for Christmas.
In addition to their charges, the police stated that the three were in-and-out of jail for charges related to drugs. According to the CIDG, even their barangay was aware of their modus.
He added that he had only done the crime once. With this development, the three will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Fernandez, on the other hand, will have a charge added for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts.
