FDA Warns Public Against Unregistered Food Products
FDA – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned the public against unregistered food products as holiday nears.
According to PhilStar, the agency warned in an advisory not to purchase the unregistered products that could possibly pose health risks.
“Since these products have not gone through evaluation process, the agency cannot assure their quality and safety,”
“The use of violative products may pose health risks to consumers,”
Among the unregistered products are the following:
- L’ Amor Coco Jam with real cacao (140 grams)
- Mango Kernels Chewy Mango Snack
- Greenlife Organic Coconut Sugar
- Sweet Valley Freeze Dried Blueberry Coated with Milk Chocolate
Based on the report, the agency added that the aforementioned items have not been issued certificates of product registration and are not allowed to be sold in the market.
It further urged the public to check if the food products are registered with the food and drug agency before purchasing and eating the products.
Commercial establishments and stores that are found selling products unregistered by the agency will be sanctioned.
On September, the agency urged all government hospitals to immediately report all illnesses and injuries related to vaping in lieu of the death of five people from a mysterious lung condition related to the electronic devices.
