Father And Child Died In Accident In Barotac Viejo, Iloilo
BAROTAC VIEJO – A father and his child died in a vehicle accident in the municipality of Barotac Viejo, Iloilo province on Sunday afternoon.
According to ABS-CBN, the fatalities were identified as Sammy Baterbonia, 52 years of age, and his daughter Princess Baterbonia, 10 years of age.
According to Police Staff Sgt. Rio Dawn Mitchelle Candelario of the said town’s Police Station The two casualties were on a motorcycle when they encountered a Ceres bus. They were not able to evade the bus on time so they eventually got caught.
Candelario added that Sammy was thrown at about 12 meters from the bus.
“Hindi naka-alis ng motor si Princess kaya naipit ito. Yung tatay na si Sammy Baterbonia ay tumilapon ng humigit kumulat 12 metro mula sa Ceres Bus”
Sammy received serious injuries on the head; while parts of his body received wounds and bruises. He was declared dead on arrival in the hospital.
As per the report, his daughter Princess, on the other hand, received serious injuries on her head, feet and other parts of her body and eventually died.
The driver of the bus, identified as Jonard Arellado, surrendered to the police.
