Teacher Expresses Dismay Over Students Ungrateful Reaction to Her Simple Gift

A teacher expresses her dismay on social media to the ungrateful reactions of her students when receiving a simple gift from her.

Gift giving is one of the most common yet heartwarming things to do during the Christmas season. it’s either small, medium or large gifts, it should be appreciated because it comes from the heart.

However, there are some people who are demanding and ambitious that wanted expensive gifts to receive during the season. Just like this teacher on Facebook who shares her dismay towards ungrateful reactions of her students after receiving simple gift.

Recently, a teacher named Kathlene Jane Mendoza couldn’t help but share how hurt she was with the reaction of her students after she gave them keychain as Christmas gift. She expresses her dismay to her ungrateful students through Facebook.

According to her caption to her post, she wanted to give a little something to her students as a “sign of love for them” despite the disapproval from some of her friends.

Teacher Kathlene said, “I prepared these keychains two weeks before Christmas Party. I wanted to give them a gift as a sign of my love for them. My friend made these keychains possible for me. Yung iba nagtaka pa, kasi bakit ko pa nga daw bibigyan sila ng regalo eh sakit sila sa ulo, sa lalamunan. But still I want to give it.”

On their Christmas party, the thoughtful teacher gave away her gifts hoping it would be appreciated. Unfortunately, only few of her students appreciate it and thanked her.

Teacher Kathlene said, “Until the Christmas Party came, I gave them the keychains one by one. Some people said thank you.”

“But you know what’s the most unforgettable thing they’ve said? ‘Cher, ito lang regalo mo samin? Kaya din namin bumili nito eh!'” she added.

The teacher admitted how hurt she was because she realized how ungrateful her students, her simple gift was turned away. “And then I realized, no matter what you do for them, if they think it’s not enough it will never be enough,” Kathlene said.

She realized how it pained her that she expected too much, hoping she would be appreciated. Kathlene said, “You know what’s funny? I really expected that they would appreciate but it turns out that they did not.”
