PDEA Chief Denies Asking Robredo To Hold Post As Drug Czar
PDEA CHIEF – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Chief Director Gen. Aaron Aquino denied requesting Vice President Leni Robredo to stay as the drug czar.
The PDEA chief made this statement after Robredo said that she was asked not to leave the anti-drug bureau.
“Hindi ko po sinabi na huwag niya kaming iwan. It was the Vice President who said that she will stay as long as the President wants her to retain her post as ICAD co-chairman.“

He added that the Vice President might have just mixed up by the events happening around her. Both Aquino and Robredo shared leadership in the ICAD for almost 3 weeks.
However, President Duterte fired Robredo earlier this month. Duterte claimed that Robredo was using her post for “grandstanding”.
According to an article from ABS-CBN, Robredo hit Aquino’s inconsistent remarks to her and the media. She said that she finds it funny and was disappointed at the same time.
Robredo emphasized that she was disappointed because Aquino was from the PMA. She added that it was expected for alumni of the PMA to be a gentleman.
The Vice President followed this up by saying “Pero ilang beses nang ang sinasabi sa harap ko, iba ang sinasabi sa media“. But, Aquino responded and said he accorded all the respect and courtesy to Robredo.
Following this, Aquino stated that he had asked all members of the ICAD to take care of the Vice President’s urgent concerns and recommendations. Although, Aquino did mention that Robredo was “entitled to her opinion”.
