SPOTIFY GETS OWN NETFLIX SERIES – The biggest name in music streaming that revolutionized the industry is getting its own Netflix Original Series.
A few years back, social media giant Facebook got its own movie called “The Social Network”. Adding to this, the story of how Snapchat was brought to life would also be getting its own series.
Now, Spotify gets their very own Netflix title based on the book “Spotify Untold”. The book entails the early days of the company and the impact it has made in the music industry.
Netflix stated that they are creating a scripted series that was inspired by the book. With this, the story would revolve around how Spotify got its funding and how it changed the way we listen to music over the past decade.
According to an article by Tech Crunch, Spotify’s story is a great example of how a local story could have a global impact.
In addition to this, the series would center around the Swedish tech entrepreneur, Daniel Ek and his partner, Martin Lorentzon. Both of them created a free and legal music service at music piracy’s height.
Netflix has described the series as being about how hard convictions, unrelenting will, access, and big dreams can help small players challenge the status quo.
