Recently, Anderson has been appointed as an ambassador of goodwill by the Philippine Youth-KASAMA (Kabatang Sama-samang Maglilingkod). The event was held at the Grand Ballroom of Venus Hotel in Baguio City.

The actor was given the title during the ceremony wherein the group’s president Gerald Ortiz and Sen. Imee Marcos was also in attendance. Anderson said that he was honored, proud, and excited about this development.

He emphasized that he now has a new platform in which he can help other people. Back in 2009, during the Ondoy calamity, the actor talked about how celebrity status can be used to be of service to others.

With his new role, the actor vowed to inspire the youth towards volunteerism. ” Ipakita kung gaano kaimportante tumulong sa iba basta kaya natin. Kung kailangan ng ibang tao basta kaya nating ibigay, ibigay natin.”, said the actor.

According to an article by Pika Pika, Dingdong Dantes previously held the title and so did the late Rico Yan. Both served as ambassadors of the government agency in the past.
