PAGASA – Typhoon Tisoy Intensifies, Signal No. 3 Over Catanduanes

PAGASA – PAGASA recently said that typhoon Tisoy, internationally called Kammuri, intensified before it makes its landfall.

The bureau added that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 has been placed over the province of Catanduanes, where it will face winds of about 121 to 170 kilometers per hour within 18 hours.

According to ABS-CBN, the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) formally opened last Saturday (November 11) and will run unti December 11. The events are currently played in Manila, New Clark City in Tarlac, and Subic.

Tisoy is expected to make landfall over Catanduanes or Albay between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

The typhoon was last seen at about 355 kilometers east of the town of Virac, Catanduandes. It is currently moving west at about 20 kilometers per hour with maximum sustained winds of about 150 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 185 kilometers per hour.

As per the report, the bureau said that Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Northern Cebu, Dinagat Islands, and Siargao Island will face intermittent to occasional heavy rains on Monday afternoon.

On the other hand, frequent to continuous heavy to intense rains will be faced by Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, and Romblon from Tuesday to Wednesday afternoon.

Intermittent to heavy rains will be faced by Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Pangasinan, Aklan, Capiz, and northern Antique.

Tisoy is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday morning.
