A photo of a teacher in Iloilo City where he was tying the hair of his girl student became viral admired by netizens on social media.
Teachers are considered as the second parent setting the environment, classrooms, and nurturing the students. They are also tasked to become role models and teaching their knowledge to the children.
Panay News, a page in Facebook recently uploaded a photo of a teacher in Iloilo who was tying a girl student’s hair. The photo was taken at Camambugan Elementary School in Santa Barbara, Iloilo.
Panay News shared the photo with the caption “Teacher, Hairstylist!”. It was found out that Thom Christian Tamaño was only a substitute teacher that time. According to Teacher Thom, he believed the teachers were second parents so he did this to his students.
In a statement, He said he wanted to make them feel like they were home and there will be no worry about school. “For me, teaching is not a profession, it’s a lifetime commitment to learning and to your students,” said Teacher Thom.
Despite the issues teachers facing today, there are still people who love this profession. Indeed, many netizens admired Teacher Thom for his students he considers as his children.
