Weather bureau PAGASA earlier said that it might have a direct effect on some venues for the 30th Southeast Games on December 3 and 4 (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Kammuri will be locally named Tisoy once it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to Inquirer’s Cebu Daily News, the event’s lead organizer and speaker Alan Peter Cayetano said that they already made contingency plans in preparation of the typhoon.

Cayetano said that they have venues in Southern Luzon, the National Capital Region, and Central Luzon, which he thinks would suffice as long as the typhoon is not massive.

“… Minsan tinatamaan tayo ng lima o anim na araw na kahit walang bagyo tuloy-tuloy pa rin ‘wag naman pong ganoon ang mangyari. Ang tingin ko hindi naman po,”

Based on the report, he further said that most of the games will be held indoors.

Kammuri was last spotted at about 1,350 kilometers east of south Luzon at about 3 AM. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of about 130 kilometers per hour and gustiness of about 160 kilometers per hour.

The bureau added that it is less likely to become a super typhoon due to the winds from the northeast monsoon or amihan.
