DOLE Issues Pay Rule For November 30 (Bonifacio Day)

HOLIDAY ALERT – The Department of Labor and Employment issued the pay rule for November 30, 2019 (Bonifacio Day).

DOLE reminds the company’s and employers regarding the pay rules that should be implemented for the upcoming Bonifacio Day (Saturday), which is a regular holiday. The announced is based on the presidential Proclamation No. 555.

The Proclamation No. 555 declares November 30 as a regular holiday in commemoration of Andres Bonifacio’s birthday, as the father of revolutionary heroes of the Philippines against Spanish colonization.

HOLIDAY ALERT

The Labor Department issued guidelines that will guide business employers and employees in the computation of the holiday pay rule.

Workers who will report to work during the holiday should receive 200 percent of his/her regular salary for the first eight hours. Employees who will work more than eight hours shall receive an additional 30 percent of their hourly rate.

If the holiday falls on employee’s rest day shall receive an additional 30 percent of the 200 percent of their daily rate. However, employees who will not report to work shall receive 100 percent of their salary for that day.
