PAGASA – Kammuri To Enter PAR After SEA Games Opening

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA said that the tropical storm Kammuri maintains its strength as it moves west over sea nearby Guam.

The bureau said in an 11 AM bulletin that the tropical storm was last seen at about 1.7 kilometers east of Visayas at about 10 AM. It is currently outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to Inquirer, the weather disturbance is expected to enter PAR on Sunday (December 1) or Monday (December 2). Sunday is the day after the opening of the 30th Southeast Asian Games or SEA Games. The weather disturbance will be named “Tisoy” once it enters PAR.

Based on the report, Kammuri is packed with maximum sustained winds of about 85 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 105 kilometers per hour. It is heading west at about 25 kilometers per hour.

The bureau further warned the public, as well as the public and disaster risk reduction and management councils, to stay vigilant for more updates on the tropical storm.
