According to Inquirer’s Cebu Daily News, this is the social media giant’s new way to make an even more welcoming environment, further saying that this also aids users feel safe and comfortable while talking on the platform, according to head product management Suzzane Xie.

The users will still be able to peek at hidden replies and engage by tapping a gray icon that will appear. However, this will no longer be active portions of the main exchange of replies that sprang from the user’s tweet.

“This way, you have more control over the conversations you start, but people can still see the entire conversation,”

The option was earlier introduced this year in some countries, which promised to help produce mor reasonable online conversations.

The platform added that the test of the hide reply option proved its usefulness for managing the to-and-fro exchanges tweets can inspire, further saying that the hidden tweets were rendered “irrelevant, off-topic or annoying,”.

“We’re exploring more options around who can reply to or see specific conversations, and are testing engagement changes to see if these lead to healthier discussions,”

As per the report, the option can be accessible globally and in updates to the mobile application.
