Lady Resident Passes Away After Lightning Strikes Her in the Head

A lady resident in Panglao, Bohol passed away after she was struck by lightning in her head while gathering seashells.

Lightning is a naturally occurring electrostatic discharge during rainy weather conditions or when two electrically charged regions equalized themselves in the atmosphere. It also causes thunder.

However, lightning contains a massive amount of electricity that could cause harm to anyone who will be struck by this electrostatic discharge.

On Sunday (November 24, 2019), a lady resident identified as Maria Jendeliza Monteza from the town of Panglao in the province of Bohol has been struck by a lightning in her head while roaming around the resort.

Monteza together with her husband and some of her colleagues from another village were collecting seashells in the village of Poblacion in Panglao when the lightning strikes. The lighting falls on Monteza’s head.

Panglao police station MSgt. Gregorio Perocho reported that aside from Monteza, some of her colleagues also suffered an electric shock. Luckily, they were not seriously injured.
