MMDA Member Rushed To Hospital Following Fight Vs. Bus Driver, Konduktor

MMDA Member Involved in Fight Against Bus Driver & Konduktor

MMDA MEMBER – A member of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority was rushed to the hospital following a fight against a bus driver and a konduktor.

There are several people assigned on the road to maintain the smooth flow of the traffic. Some of them are the officers and the members of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or more commonly called as MMDA.

These people are tasked to implement the traffic rules and to reprimand those who are not obedient to it. They can also order a penalty in the pursuit of fulfilling their jobs.

However, sadly, some confrontations lead to altercations. In fact, there were several times when things went physical between an MMDA officer or member and the motorist whose attention was called.

Recently, the said situation happened along EDSA-Ortigas Northbound. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, an MMDA member got into a fight against a bus driver and a konduktor. He had to be brought to the hospital right away.

The member was identified as Arvin Gabay. He is part of the MMDA Sidewalk Clearing Operations Group. He is one of those who are conducting a clearing operation at the side of Robinsons Galleria.

Speaking to DZMM, EDSA Traffic Operations Officer 2 Jeffrey Torres expressed that Gabay also helps in easing the traffic. However, he noticed that a bus was not moving and was waiting for passengers so he called the attention of the driver.

Based on the report, Gabay got into a verbal altercation first against the bus driver and the konduktor. Later on, the two (2) went down the bus and they had a fight.

“Narespondehan naman pati po ng HPG (Highway Patrol Group) kaya nadampot ‘yung driver at konduktor,” Torres said.

The MMDA Officer identified the bus as under the Diamond Star and was taking the route to Malanday. He stressed that the bus driver and the konduktor will be facing charges over obstruction and driving with expired license among others.
